The Active Health Clinical Team’s CPD journey continues!
Here at Active Health, we’re always striving to keep learning and to develop our skills so our practice becomes increasingly more beneficial for all our clients.
At Active Health our physiotherapists have dedicated Continual Professional Development (CPD) time built into their schedule to allow for continued training and education.
This week the clinical team visited Phil at Hi Performance NI for a full on (and very interactive!) strength and conditioning session.
Using his expertise, the team built on their rehabilitation skills and learned new techniques to assist in their patients’ recovery.
These skills can be accessed for all our patients right up to high performance athletes
Phil is a highly experienced coach, having worked with elite athletes in Football, Rugby, Golf and more.
Have a look at some of the photos from the day below and read some quotes from a few of the team.
Dave Saligari - Owner, Physiotherapist
Great S&C (strength & conditioning) session yesterday with Phil . After it I feel like we are going to have athletes being able to continue with more sport specific exercise through every stage of rehabilitation, so they can feel part of the team and not the injury list.
Lucy Armstrong - Sports Therapist
The best bit was seeing different way that we can help our clients rehabilitate, and how we can use that for both athletic and non-athletic populations.
It was also really good to see some performance related rehab and strength work: I’m feeling inspired with some new ideas!
Hannah Younge - Physiotherapist
I really enjoyed getting out of clinic and into a different learning environment. It was useful to see how Phil works; – rehabilitating athletes back to sport and full function.
It was also useful as I can see how I’d translate some of these new rehab ideas into our clinic and tailor them specifically to the level of each individual.
Ellie McCormack - Physiotherapist
I really enjoyed the session and found the progressive structure that was used to be very useful and easy to follow.
I liked the fact that the exercises and rehab journey described were appropriate for a range of different sports.
