What is Barre Pilates?

Barre is a low impact, high intensity class that combines elements of ballet, Pilates and strength training to create a dynamic and energetic workout. It is a hybrid workout that focuses on a lot of small, intense movements that push muscles to the point of fatigue whilst getting a good aerobic workout. 

Barre routines will typically include a mixture of movements and stretches utilising bodyweight, resistance bands and light weights. To help with balance the Barre is used as a prop allowing increasing depth of movement, focus on toning and strengthening through isolation of small range of motion. 

Barre class will tone and sculpt your muscles, improve flexibility and boost cardiovascular endurance. The class is high intensity but lower impact making it an option for those that struggle with joint pain. Like our other classes Barre is adaptable to you but if you struggle with balance or have a lot of movement restrictions we would advise you book a pilates consult first to ensure it is the right class for you.
