Headaches – that originate from the upper cervical spine joints, muscles and soft tissue such as tension headaches

Overuse Injuries – inflammatory injuries of the muscles, tendons and connective tissue of the body eg; Achilles Tendinosis, Tennis elbow, Golfers elbow

Sports Injuries – traumatic and overuse injuries from sports

Postural / Biomechanics Issues – poor muscle balance, bony alignment or the sedentary nature of modern life

Arthritic conditions – Osteoarthritic & rheumatoid arthritic conditions affecting the spine and peripheral joints of the body

Physiotherapy aims to reduce symptoms and restore movement and function, therefore enhancing quality of life.

At your first appointment, the physiotherapist will carry out a detailed clinical assessment and deliver an individually tailored treatment plan based on clinical findings.

Throughout your treatment we can liaise with our Multidisciplinary team such as Podiatrists, Massage Therapists and Personal Trainers, to provide a holistic approach to your recovery.

We have close links to GPs and Specialist Consultants as well as Musculoskeletal Radiologists in Northern Ireland. Where indicated you can be referred for further diagnostic investigations (e.g. MRI, CT and US), as well as medical and surgical procedures to aid in the management and recovery of your condition. Our Physiotherapists are registered with the following Professional bodies and are held to the highest standards of care.

VIRTUAL PHYSIOTHERAPY

WHY BOOK ONLINE PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Online physiotherapy is the ideal option for those who are shielding, self-isolating or in fact those who have a busy lifestyle and need the convenience of accessing expert advice anywhere. We understand being in isolation does not mean that you do not have back or neck pain, or shoulder pain and we want to be able to continue to help people with the correct treatment and rehabilitation plan.
WHO IS ONLINE PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR?
Anyone who is struggling with pain, stiffness or injuries that are stopping them being able to live the life they want comfortably. Whether that is because your back pain is stopping you being able to put your socks on in the morning or that hip pain has come back because you are now running more frequently than you are used to then we are able to build a bespoke treatment plan to get you back to full health.
HOW DOES ONLINE PHYSIOTHERAPY WORK?

Your physiotherapist will carry out your appointment via a private video call using a secure programme (provided by our partner, Zoom).

Your physiotherapist will ask the same questions and carry out the same assessments that they would if they saw you in person. In the first session, they will:

  1. Ask about pain, discomfort and mobility
  2. Assess your range of movement, strength and functional activities
  3. Discuss your diagnosis
  4. Create a treatment plan including goal setting, exercise prescription, education and guided self-manual therapy.

All you will need is a phone, iPad or Computer with a camera. If you are using a phone or iPad you will need to download the Zoom App from the app store. You will be sent a link via email that you click at the time of your appointment. This will connect you with your Physiotherapist directly. When connecting make sure to select “Use computer audio”.

Make sure that you are somewhere that you can move around a little so that the Physiotherapist can see you move and get you to carry out some tests. Also make sure that the camera is set up that you can be seen clearly on the screen.

HOW LONG WILL MY ONLINE APPOINTMENT LAST?
An initial Assessment for a new injury will take up to 45mins and a follow up appointment will be up to 30mins
WHY VIDEO AND NOT TELEPHONE?

We can achieve more via video than over telephone. Using video, we can complete a functional assessment, observe your range of movements and carry out modified testing to help with diagnosis. We can also see your environment such as your workstation that you are working from home at and advise on ways to modify this to aid your recovery.

Is Online Physiotherapy Covered By Private Medical Insurance?

Online physio is currently covered by most private medical insurers, including Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Vitality, IPRS, Cigna and HCML.
