Postnatal Pilates 6-Week Course

6 Week Mum + Baby Mat Pilates Class

This course of 6 classes is suitable from 6 weeks after delivery but available to you at any stage of your postnatal journey as everyone progresses at different times.

The class content is designed and delivered by physiotherapists and developed specifically to aid in postnatal recovery:

  • Tone
  • Focus on pelvic floor
  • Improve core strength
  • Help posture
  • Boost energy
  • Meet local mums

We aim to provide a safe, fun and challenging environment for new mums.

Don’t worry about the added stress of childcare as your baby is welcome to attend the session with you (no ambulant children, please!) and the class will remain a relaxed atmosphere where you can care for your child as you need as well as meeting other local mums.

Postnatal Package at Active Health

We are offering a fantastic Postnatal Package deal which includes the following:

6 weeks Mum + Baby Mat Pilates Class

30 minute assessment with a physio before the class plus a second appointment either at the end of the 6 weeks, or during the course (your preference).

During the Initial Assessment, we will assess your movement, posture and stomach muscles post-natal – addressing any pain, movement restrictions or other issues ensuring your readiness to progress back to exercise. We are happy to discuss your goals for the course and beyond.

Then, following your 6-week class (or, during the course, if you prefer) there will be a review to assess your progress and advise on your next steps.

You will be able to attend the course as many times as you wish as it will be led by an expert physiotherapist with specialist training in Ante + Postnatal Pilates who can adapt the exercises to your level as required so you always feel progression.

Classes will strengthen, lengthen and tone, assisting with improvements in your posture, energy levels, focus and recovery from pregnancy.

There will be focus on the pelvic floor and activation of the lower abdominals to assist with correction of any diastasis recti from pregnancy.
