Dave Saligari is off to Australia on a CPD journey to further his learning in Migraine and Headache Treatment!

dave saligari, headache specialist

Dave has headed to Adelaide, Australia for a two week stint of Professional Development, specifically to do with his special interest in the management of headache and migraine.

He is there to spend time observing his mentor, Dean Watson, as well as to undertake two courses being run by Dean. Dean is an Australian physiotherapist from Adelaide who has exclusively treated headache and migraine for the last thirty five years. He has developed his approach over this time, as well as undertaking research regarding primary and secondary forms of headache, as well as migraine.

Dave first did the Level 1 – Foundation Course in his native Perth in 2003.

The last course Dave did with Dean was in The Hague, Netherlands in 2016. This was Dean’s Level 3 – Certification Course, which made Dave a Certified Watson Headache® Practitioner.

Dave is the only Certified Watson Headache® Practitioner in Ireland and Scotland. He’s not too sure about Wales… Do you know?

Week One:
After undertaking and assisting on a Level 2 – Consolidation Course in the first few days in Adelaide he will spend three of the next four days in clinic observing Dean assessing and treating patients.

Week Two:
In the second week he will undertake the newly developed Facilitator Course, which will enable Dave to train his own staff in the Watson Headache® Approach.

The rigorous Facilitator Course is new and only a handful of Watson Headache® Practitioners have undertaken the course in recent times. It will involve theory into the approach, as well as considering new research in this poorly understood area. There will be significant hands on practice with Dean, as well as the other Level 3 participants that Dave will be undertaking the Facilitator Course with. Participants will assess and treat real life patients who have made themselves available over the four days of the course.

Do you suffer from headaches, or does someone you know?

Dave may well be able to help you treat your headaches without the need for painkillers.
