Rory McDonagh

About Rory

Rory combines a background in sport and exercise science with postgraduate training in physiotherapy. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from Ulster University and an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Brighton.

He enjoys working with the general population, recreational runners, people who play sport and those who are new to exercise. He works with a range of musculoskeletal problems, including lower back and neck pain, upper- and lower-limb injuries, tendinopathies, plantar heel pain and osteoarthritis. He also supports people recovering after surgery or returning to activity following a sports injury.

Rory starts by understanding each person’s goals and what motivates them. He combines exercise therapy, manual therapy and clear explanations to build a plan around their needs. His aim is to help patients progress beyond pain relief, improving their strength, movement and confidence in what their body can do.

His experience spans private musculoskeletal practice, hospital work, personal training, strength and conditioning, and sports coaching. He enjoys working with recreational runners, people who play sport and those who are new to exercise. He also teaches mat Pilates and uses KINVENT strength testing to support assessment and rehabilitation.
