Mark Blackburne
Massage Therapist
Born and raised locally Mark was educated at Methodist College Belfast and Queen’s University where he studied, and later taught, political science before forging a career in the financial sector. Having always maintained a keen interest in the medical sciences (on two occasions bemusing his school teachers and university tutors by studying biology and politics together) Mark decided to return to education to study Anatomy & Physiology and Sports Massage Therapy at The Portobello Institute in Dublin.
Coming from what he describes as a ‘sports mad’ family, Mark is a keen walker, hiker and kayaker, his experience of which have promoted a keen interest in the treatment and prevention of sports injuries. With a keen interest in history, art, and architecture Mark also regularly volunteers with the National Trust and can often be found guiding visitors round his favourite property Mount Stewart House on the shores of Strangford Lough.
